I definitely tried "feeding" all my negative thoughts during this race, and it seemed to help -- though whether that's because I was actually hungry or because I just looked forward to eating is hard to say! <br /><br />Also, re: slowing down on the run, I am SURE that the timing mat for the first half was not at mile 6.6! Granted, I did slow down in the second half, too, but I remember crossing that mat, looking at my watch, and being excited that I'd hit 6 miles at under 10-minute pace. Little did I know the tracking made it look like I was running 9-minute pace (which, I wish!).
